NHS 111 Self-referral
If you have contacted NHS 111 and have been referred to our pharmacy, our pharmacist will provide a confidential clinical consultation to assess your symptoms and recommend the most appropriate treatment or next steps.
Following your NHS 111 referral, we will:
-
Review your symptoms and medical history.
-
Provide expert advice and self-care guidance.
-
Supply medication where appropriate under NHS services.
-
Refer you to another healthcare professional if your symptoms require further assessment.
Our consultations are carried out in a private consultation room, and no appointment is usually required once your referral has been received.
If you have been referred by NHS 111, please attend the pharmacy as soon as possible during our opening hours. If you are unable to attend, please contact us so we can advise you on the next steps.
Please note: If you experience severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of a stroke, or another life-threatening emergency, call 999 immediately rather than attending the pharmacy.
This wording reflects how NHS 111 pharmacy referrals work, where patients are referred for assessment of appropriate minor illnesses or urgent medicine needs, with pharmacists providing treatment where suitable or escalating care if necessary. (england.nhs.uk)
