Pharmacy First will enable community pharmacists to supply prescription-only medicines, including antibiotics and antivirals where clinically appropriate, to treat seven common health conditions without the need to visit a GP.

If you are suffering from any of these,

Conditions We Can Treat:

Sinusitis (for ages 12 years and over)
Sore throat (for ages 5 years and over)
Ear infection (acute otitis media) (for ages 1–17 years)
Infected insect bites (for ages 1 year and over)
Impetigo (for ages 1 year and over)
Shingles (for ages 18 years and over)
Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) (for women aged 16–64 years)

Who Can Use the Service:

You are registered with an NHS GP practice in England
You meet the age and condition criteria above
Your symptoms are assessed by the pharmacist as suitable for treatment under the service

What to Expect:

A private consultation with a trained pharmacist
Advice, and if needed, a prescription-only medicine supplied through the NHS
No appointment needed. Walk in or book a time that suits you

Contraception Service

Our pharmacist can now prescribe and supply contraception directly, no need to see your GP.

We offer convenient, confidential access to contraception and emergency contraception under the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service. All consultations are private and confidential, carried out by a qualified pharmacist prescriber.

What We Offer:

Initiation and continuation of oral contraception (combined or progestogen-only pills)
Emergency contraception (morning after pill)
Advice on different contraceptive options to help you choose what’s right for you
Blood pressure and BMI checks (when required for safe prescribing)
